It’s that time of year again! As our busy lives carry us through the days, some of us may not take the time to set our family table for meals in the way we do for Thanksgiving. Just as everyday chores teach us important principles of life, so does a set table that invites loved ones to gather and converse and share a meal.
Setting a table doesn’t need to be fancy and over crowded. If you have a variety of dishes, it is often a trend to mix and match a table of variety settings. What we know for sure is that an inviting and set table prepares our minds and our stomachs for a fabulous experience dining.
We have gathered a few examples of some very nice but simple settings. If conversation is difficult, you can even Google conversation making sentences to help the dinner go well. Relax. Look at who sits at the table and know that one day the seats will change. Embrace the day and make moments count.
Have the kids make a craft to give them the opportunity to express their thanks and to learn why we pause each year to give thanks for all we have.
